How do awards work in mock trial?

Teams compete to win ballots.  Every part (witness or attorney roles) can earn anywhere between 1-10 points.
The team with the most points at the end of a round, wins that ballot. The more ballots won by a team at the end of a tournament, the more likely that team will place higher.

Mock trial also recognizes individual performances. Judges rank the best attorneys and witnesses they see each round, 1-4.

The best score an individual can receive at the end of a tournament is 20 ranks.
