My sophomore year, I was giving my first opening statement during my first ever trial as an attorney. I could barely breathe and stuttered through the entire thing, and could not stop thinking about how disappointed my team must be. But when I sat back down and opened my padfolio, there were a bunch of supportive notes written for me! :")

Shaffer joined Mock Trial because she likes to argue, and to look good in a suit while doing so. When she's not pretending to be in court, you can find her teaching people how to pronounce her name. Shay-fer Ker-shen-man, by the way. :-)
